What Is the Best Shoe Choice for Running and Fitness?  Vibram Fingers Shoes!

Are you looking for ways to improve both your fitness and strength?  Do you desire to increase your balance, agility and range of motion?  If your answer is yes, why not consider getting a pair of the new Vibram fingers shoes?  Even though the Vibram shoe is fairly new on the market, it has gained a huge and dedicated following of athletes who wear it for running, fitness training, yoga, climbing, water sports, hiking and more.

Some of the benefits of this uniquely new design include a sole that’s much thinner and more lightweight than what you will find in the more traditional athletic shoes. The truly wonderful result of this is that your movements become more natural and, as a result, you develop a better step pattern.

No matter where you turn, asking anyone that has taken the next ‘step’ in shoe ownership and purchased a pair of Vibram Fingers shoes will be found with nothing but positive comments.  You will experience what so many others already have: that these shoes are like wearing a second skin!  The amazing feature behind this is that, while it offers full protection for the foot, it also allows the foot to move fully.  Not only that, but it strengthens foot muscles, increases balance, and improves posture as well.

Now, obviously, due to the unique design of these shoes, you will be fielding a lot of comments and questions about its design. Keep in mind, the shoe has toes in it for goodness sakes! But, because of this, your whole foot is surrounded by the lightweight material that the shoe is composed of. The foot is literally being ‘hugged’. It truly is like being barefoot!

As is often the case, new products come and go, and the same can be said for the varying styles of fitness shoes. But rest assured; the Vibram is here to stay. This innovative shoe design is one that will be used and appreciated by fitness buffs and athletes for years to come. Its breakthrough design is quite possibly the best available today for not only getting the most comprehensive fitness for your feet, but the best running experience possible also.

Even if you are just looking for that comfortable walking shoe, Vibram fingers shoes are just the ticket!

  1. They are great. I got a good amount of blisters to begin with, but as soon as my feet toughened up a bit they have been great. I have torn cartilage in one of my knees and haven’t had any knee pain since running in these shoes.

  2. I love my Sprints and cant live without them. I bought 2 more pairs of Vibram Five Fingers, the KSO and another Sprint. It is important to not get them too tight, you really need some room in the toes. I wrote a detailed review of them on my blog: [...]

I bought these specifically for running and they are the best–ever! These shoes mimic barefoot running but protect feet from the elements and debris. I bought these during my last month of pregnancy and wore them for my walks to get used to them—at 6 weeks post partum I wore them for a 5k and still wear them daily for long and short runs. They are so amazing! For anyone considering these in place of barefoot running I have to recommend them. Read about running form and you will find that any time a runner is landing on the heel they are going to feel shin and knee pain–these shoes help the runner to be mindful of landing on the ball of the foot. The ankles and calves will feel tired and achy when first running in these, but once the muscles are strong, the pain goes away and what is left is beautiful form and enjoyable running. I throw the shoes in the washer once a week and hang up to dry overnight–you don’t wear socks with them, so the once a week wash keeps them fresh.

I am female, 44 years old, 5’6, 50 lbs. overweight, but fairly strong. I have tried every “regular” running/walking shoe on the market and have had problems with every one. Every time I walk or jog, I end up with blisters on the pad of my foot behind my toes. An orthopedic doc told me I needed a custom insert made because I have high arches. That was a waste of time and money. These shoes have completely eliminated the problem. I have been wearing them for a little over a month. I started out with short walks on a treadmill, then longer walks in the neighborhood, and now am walking/jogging for an hour a day. I have definitely had some sore muscles within my feet – I’m assuming from muscles that have never been used – but nothing painful. No blisters. Mine are a size 40 and they fit fairly snugly. I almost returned them because my big toe felt a little too snug in the beginning. I’m glad I didn’t because now they are perfect. I’ve even gotten used to the look of them. I thought my teenagers would laugh at me, but they thought they look cool (my husband, of course, did laugh however!) Maybe they worked well for me because I hate shoes and go barefoot whenever possible. I wear flipflops until the snow starts to fall. I have the Sprint in a grey/hawaiian ocean and like the look of them. They were $80. They are easy to put on and I love not having to mess with socks. I never write reviews of things (although I rely on them when I buy things) but feel so strongly about these that I felt I had an obligation to report my success with these.

  5. Made well but just doesn’t feel right. Returned item with no questions asked and an immediate refund. Would do business with again in the future for a different product.
