Top Christmas Toys Item ID: #133Sing-A-Ma-Jigs: The Newest Characters Set To Make Waves At Christmas 2010Product Information:
Item DescriptionIf you are looking for that something special for your child this Christmas, Sing-a-ma-jigs are the latest characters by Mattel, and are touted as one of the bestselling Christmas toy for 2010. They come in a number of different characters, designed to be interactive as well as musical! What Are Sing-A-Ma-Jigs?Sing-a-ma-jigs, from Fisher-Price (the umbrella company for Mattel), are cute little characters that have a crazy, unique look. Each different character comes with its own voice, its own look, and its own song. When your child squeezes the character, it will start to sing. You can buy just one, but the fun really starts once you hear them all singing together. Each Sing-a-ma-jig sings in its own pitch: they each add a different layer to the sound! No matter how many Sing-a-ma-jigs you get to sing together, they all sing in perfect harmony every time. There are a number of different characters available including:* Pink, Some of the songs sung by the Sing-a-ma-jigs include “Where Oh Where Has My Little Dog Gone”, “Home on the Range”, “When the Saints Go Marching In” and “Skip to My Lou” – wonderful ways for kids to learn classic childrens songs! Although they all look different, they do share a few of the same features such as their open mouths, cute sweaters, and the ability to sing sweet songs! Each character comes with three different modes of play: singing, chatter, and harmonizing. When in chatter mode, the character will speak in their own language of jibber-jabbers. To put the character in song mode, your child will need to squeeze on it gently until they open their mouth and start singing. With proper handling, they can even control the tempo of the song! The harmonizing mode is available when you have two or more sing-a-ma-jig characters. Sing-a-ma-jigs aren’t just for singing though! They also make cute, soft and huggable companions for any child. Should You Buy Sing-A-Ma-Jigs for Your Child?Sing-a-ma-jigs really are unusual, and are like no other toy. Each different character comes with its own voice and song, meaning they’re great for kids who might want to collect them, but they still stand alone should you only buy one character. There are only a couple of downsides to these toys. If your child is very small, it may be a little difficult for them to squeeze it or choose the right mode. The only other downside is the inability to control the volume. However, truth be told, kids just love these quirky characters regardless! The manufacturer recommends Sing-a-ma-jigs be given to children aged 3 and up. Sing-a-ma-jigs can be purchased for under $20, but it’s important to buy early as they tend to go out of stock very quickly! More colors of Sing-a-ma-jig are being released all the time. So cute! I bought these on Amazon after seeing them on HSN. The price is much better and they are just adorable. They will make cute Christmas gifts for my little relatives.
With 5 grandaughters under 5 this toy was wonderful. Very affordable and still fun for each age.All five girls have played with them on different levels. the 5 year old enjoys the singing while the 5 month old is able to grab and chew. The 16month old uses it to cuddle.Thank you!
Our 1 year old niece was fascinated with this toy. The Sing-A-Ma-Jigs only harmonize single notes–not an entire song. But they are delightful toys.
These are absolutely adorable! I love that they teach tonality, key and harmony – something I think the current generation of children is lacking, given the current popularity of Justin Beiber, but I digress…. The toys are too cute. A little strange looking and just “okay” when you have just one, but magical when you have two. I will put them away for Christmas, but reluctantly. I enjoy playing with them myself!
These are the cutest toys! The only complaint I have is that the fur where you push his belly wears out too fast, but other than that my daughter wont put it down! I find myself playing with it when she sleeps!! Now she wants all of them!
